There are many factors that are considered when pricing an indexing project.
- What is the subject of the book?
- Is the book a "fast read" or densely filled with information?
- Is the book written by one author or is it an edited compilation?
- How many pages are there?
- Is the book a multi-volume set?
--If so, is a master index needed? - Do you prefer embedded indexing?
- What is the deadline for the index (2 weeks? 4 weeks?)
- Are the pages the indexer receives the final page proofs or will there be changes to pagnation while the book is being index?
