Past Personal Trips

2000/May: Alaska cycling trip. Biked the Denali Highway, from Paxson to Cantwell, and then to Denali National Park. Biking in Alaska in May is interesting-- the snow adds a new twist to bicycling.

2000/1997/1996/Winter: Voyageur Outward Bound Staff Invitational dog sledding trips. Each trip was one week. In 1996, we were out in arctic temperatures with the lowest temperature reading at -74°F -- not including the wind chill! Woohoo-- after that we decided to move to Alaska and found that all of our other dog sledding trips were too warm (with temperatures ranging between -35°F-10°F).

1996/1994/1992/Winter: Big Bend National Park, TX. 8 day trip on the Old Mine Trail & Telephone Canyon Trail; 15 day trip starting at the Basin, down Juniper Canyon to Glenn Spring to Solis Over the Cross Canyon Trail and back to Solis, up Elephant Tusk, to the corral and back out through the Chisos; 6 day trip through Mesa Verde and surrounding areas (watch out for those wild mules!!!)

1994/April: Grand Canyon National Park, AZ. 7 day trip on the Arch Route trail. We did this route backwards!

1993/October: Overland Trek, Tasmania Australia. On this beautiful 6 day trip we encountered wombats, wallabys, joeys, and snow!

1993/July: Banff and Jasper National Park, Canada. 14 days orienteering trip.
